Recognizing that the greatest difficulty in any field of photography is finding sufficient light to illuminate one's subject and expose the sensitive material--whether film, CCD or CMOS sensors--is only compounded as the exposure time is diminished and the framerate is expanded, IDT continues to progress the science of high speed with its introduction of the soon-to-be-released Y6 camera featuring the all new Scorpio sensor.
In order to satisfy the specific needs of its clients, IDT offers the option of 1504x1128 or 1280x1024 resolutions, capable of attaining speeds of 1140 and 1400 frames per second respectively. Each consists of relatively mammoth 16 micron pixels, hungry for light and ready to deliver images previously unimaginable from a high speed source. Rated at an astounding 9000 ISO monochrome and 3000 ISO color, these cameras set the new standard for image clarity in low light situations, decreasing the substantial costs associated with lighting. Also improved in the new sensor is bit depth, with monochrome depth at 12 bits and color at 36 bits, making the Y6 IDT's most capable camera in capturing the true essence of what's being recorded.
Give the unrivaled specifications of the Y6, it will be the perfect option for those whose budgets do not preclude the highest quality, regardless of industry. Only when space is too limited for a Y-Series camera would an alternative make a better option. Given the cutting edge nature of the camera, final specs may differ slightly as the ideal operating settings are finalized.
